About

(Spatially) Separate No More refers to a geographical theory from the 1960′s called Spatial Separatism. It championed the idea that you could untangle the red sauce from the spaghetti after they'd been tossed and review each in isolation. It's a fun theory but it's the opposite of any kind of connected thinking. We see it attempted over and over in sales, marketing and technology programs. In this blog I'll argue that the Whole will always out weigh the Sum of the Parts and that most times we need to go patiently down the rabbit hole a little to understand how to make the most effective decisions. I began my career in Government policy and rural development, fell into IT via Douglas Coupland's 'Microserfs' novel in the late 1990s. Since then, I've wandered through Digital Marketing, business program development and business architecture and execution. I'm trying to prove to myself as much as anyone that there's a logic to this path and that everything is connected!
